Click the 'Show Search Options' button and then 'Create filter.' Choose Archive or Delete and then click 'Create Filter' to save and apply it. Enter your filter's search criteria, complete with timeframe, into the Search box. I know I can still see both by selecting 'all email'. You can automatically delete or archive old emails in Gmail by creating a filter. I guess I'm still trying to figure out the difference between 'archive' and 'delete'. But, at least they're not in my Inbox, which is what I really wanted in the first place.

After you archive messages, you can still find them under the label, All Mail. No need to schedule rules to run at regular intervals. In Gmail: Archive messages, or set up filters to automatically move messages to the archive. On the pop-up, click on OK to confirm that you want to Archive selected Emails. Once the Emails are selected, click on the Archive icon located in the top menu bar. Now, under the More or More Options dropdown (upper right. In Outlook: Set up rules to periodically move messages from your inbox to the Outlook Archive file. Select the email/emails that you want to archive. Click the dropdown and select the All option. Then on the top left of the messages pane, there will be a checkbox with a dropdown.

Oddly though, if I look at mail by selecting that label, they're still there. On the left hand side, click the Busy tag (or any other if you wish it may be in a drop down) to bring up all of the messages with the selected label. Now the archive option shows up and seems to work. Select 'all' once again, and notice that a link shows up saying something like "do you really want to mark all 427 conversations, or just the 50 on this page?" It's not very obvious, but you have to select that link. I previously selected 'All', but it apparently only select that first 50, and the archive option DID show up, but it looked like they were still there, so I tried it again. When I select 'Jobs', the first 50 show on my screen. I had over 400 emails with a label marked 'Jobs'. I had the same problem - 'archive' was gone.
